What is the difference between a lawyer and a carp?
23.September, 2009
One is a bottom feeding, scum sucking, slimy low life, the other is a fish.
Why won’t a shark bite a lawyer – professional courtesy
What is a shame? – a busload of lawyers going off a cliff
What is a crying shame? – there was an empty seat on the bus
What is black and brown and looks good on a lawyer?
a Doberman Pinscher
How many lawyer’s jokes are there- just 5 – the rest are true stories.
I am studying health and social care, and was wondering where can i find out about charters?
23.September, 2009
It would also be very useful if anybody could give me information about codes of practice in the nhs, and where i could find them?
many thanks
head for the department of health website; you can download pretty much any document for free.
The search facility is very good. To give you more information about codes of practice you’d have to be more specific but just searching on this website should bring up useful and interesting stuff!!
What is the best kind of fishing lures to use in around 50 degree water for large mouth?
23.September, 2009
I was wandering if I should use jigs or crankbaits. I know bass are moving slower around this temp. Any tips for lure useage would be great!
Try small Jigs (1/8-1/4) with a Berkley Grub or Leech.
A small Husky Jerk minnow works well.
4" Senko fished SUPER slow on a Texas Rig(Using the "dead stick" retrieve).
Here in MN I’ve noticed a "trend" in cold water Bass fishing:
Small lures with very little "large movement" action works best!
My favorite? A black 1/8 oz marabou Hair-jig under a "dial-a-depth" float.
Hope this helps? Good luck!
What is the best bait to use when fishing for trout?
21.September, 2009
I am going fishing this weekend and was wondering what works best for catching Rainbow Trout. What do you use?
just in case none of these helpful hints work, read this, it might help you to find a way to get bit (you know just in case the trout aren’t biting)
How does the Angle of Attack affect lift?
21.September, 2009
How does the Angle of Attack affect lift in terms of of the equation F=ma?
F= lift
m= mass of air diverted downwards
a= the change in velocity of the air being diverted downwards
In other words, does increasing the AoA increase the amount of air being diverted down? or does it speed up the vertical velocity of the air?
I know that increasing the AoA results in more lift (until you hit the stall angle), but I don’t understand why.
Skyhawk, I am aware of the "real" lift equation, and the AoA vs. lift coefficient curve, but you’re not really answering my question.
Drewpie,
Yep, your answer is what I’m looking for. You mentioned that increasing the AoA will increase the velocity of airflow on the top of the wing. What I’ve been trying to ask is why this happens. How does tilting a wing increase the velocity of air ontop of a wing?
I think you are really looking for:
Yes increasing AOA increases the velocity on the topside of the airfoil. It does the same thing as increasing the chamber but is less efficient at it.
It does NOT force any air down. You can thinking of it as "sucking a plane upward". There is NO magic column of air pushing the plane up (unless you are talking about the harrier).
And yes you can make a plane fly without any chamber in the wing. Using only angle of attack to create lift. I don’t know if any real planes have been made to fly this way because of the lack of efficiency and control but the IFO you can buy does this little neat trick in a R/C model.

daiwa 210lr reels about how old and were the good or not?
21.September, 2009
My mom gave me a 210lr reel and a rod that was my dads. I took it home cleaned it up works good. My dad passed away 11 years ago. I was just trying to see if they were good reels or not and about how old he got back some what into fishing in the mid 80′s Not planning to use it just going to put it in my den.
The 210 was a very popular spincast reel. Dating it to the mid 80′s is about right. Most spincast reels are considered "kids" or "beginners" reels, and a lot of them were/are not made all that well. The 210 was an exception. This reel was of very good quality compared to most others, and it would still be fine to use today if you chose to.
An underwater diver sees the sun 47° above horizontal. How high is the sun above the horizon to a fisherman in
21.September, 2009
I need some help with this. I have tried and I keep getting 33.56 degrees. Thanks for the help.
Angles of incidence and refraction are measured from the vertical.
The diver sees the sun at 47deg. above horizontal. That is:
90 – 47
= 43 deg. to the vertical.
The fisherman sees the sun at x deg. above horizontal. That is:
90 – x deg. to the vertical.
Therefore:
sin(90 – x) / sin(43) = 1.33
cos(x) / sin(43) = 1.33
x = 24.90 deg.
What would happen if I tried to clean and fry a dogfish or carp like any other fish?
21.September, 2009
What would happen if I ate a dogfish (bowfin) or a carp? Are they toxic, or do they just not taste good? I know largemouth bass don’t taste good, but how do these types of fish compare to largemouth bass?
Cook the carp over a fire on a piece of wood.
Then eat the piece of wood, it’ll taste better.
There used to be Royal Charters relating to the rights of individuals. I was wondering if any of these were still in force. Thanks
Too many to count. The BBC has a royal charter, as do other organisations like the Royal Institute of International Affairs. In 2000 and 2002 she issued charters granting city status to several towns.
