What are some of the best saltwater fishing lures for fishing for blue fish, stripe bass, and those little tuna. For off the new jersey coast, fishing off the beach, jettis, or boats.
A big topwater lure like a Cotton Cordell Pencil Popper or a big metal-lipped saltwater Diving Rapala Magnums. Both work good in saltwater with a mackeral-colored finish.
Here in Southern California, guys in kayaks use the big mackeral-colored Diving Rapala Magnums for thresher shark.
why do some adult brook trout appear different than others?
06.December, 2009
i have notice that the color and shape of many adult male brook trout varies signifigantly, from different populations, why is this?
Trout and Char are known for changing colors with the seasons, water clarity, water depth, spawning, etc. Also male fish look significantly different than female fish in much the same way that hen pheasants look different than rooster pheasants. Surprisingly, even damage to the eyesight of a fish can determine what coloration or pattern it takes on. I once caught a rainbow trout in a Colorado stream that was almost completely black except for a creamy white belly speckled with black edges. On closer examination of that totally rare fish, we discovered it was completely blind. It is surprising that a blind fish could survive as long as it did to grow to be 14" long without getting eaten by a predator. I have seen brook trout that showed almost no colors or patterns at all while others have sported the beautiful vermiculation (tiger stripes or worm tracks) over the back and included bright blue halo’s with red or pink spots. The spawning males get even more intensely colored and patterned, and also develop a kype (hooked jaw) that distinguishes them even more from the less spectacular females. For the record, the brookies are actually Char as opposed to trout and are most closely related to dolly varden and arctic char. What ever you care to call them, I call them my favorite fish to see and catch in trout waters.

2. Commericial fisherman or crabbing work -How does one get hired? Where do they go. Pay rate also?
This question is for a family member

Roughnecks work in the oil fields. Great pay, but Reeeealy hard work, both physically and psychologically.
Oil rig workers work typically 3 weeks on, 1 off. Had a friend that did it. Said it was the most boring job ever.

What is the difference between a Defensive and a Nose tackle?
06.December, 2009
Is it only a Nose tackle when there is three on the line or how does it work???
Defensive tackle is primaraly used in a 4-3 set. The two in the middle of the defensive line are considered Defensive Tackles. They line up on the offensive guards or around that area.
A Nose tackle is primaraly used in a 3-4 set with three down linemen. He is the middle linemen lined up directly on the center.
Nose tackles are usually bigger than regular defensive tackles, but not always. This is because they can plug up one to two running lanes for the running back.
Is it still okay to go fishing for carp?
06.December, 2009
Really, the pike and Salmon season is up. I still like to catch carp have a lot of corn meal left and some other ingredients to make the carp bait. I live in New York, Central. Is it okay to still gO?
Specially have something for Thanksgiving?
Sounds like you’re asking if the carp will be biting…you’ll never know if you don’t go. You’ll have to do some searching because of all the cool weather about but that’s what separates those who fish with those who catch…experience. ~good luck catchin’.
P.S.
The additional detail part, I can see that, A little side dish made with traditional carp recipes from yesteryear sounds good. If nothing, I’m sure you find something in one of the many markets your way. ; )
