How do I fish for carp?

11.October, 2009

I fish the San Joaquin River near Stevinson. I caught catfish and bluegills there. I’ve seen lots of carp in the water.I ‘ve used carp bait but caught nothing.Any tips on how i can catch some carp?

Try not using any bait at all. Carp eat everything.

ive tried that carp bait stuff. it works like shit. i use night crawlers and mainly can corn. that seems to work best but they do Prettyy much eat anything.

get a couple hooks on your line. umm… corn, bread, and dough baits work best. Carp really dont eat anything. there more herbivores than anything. (plant eating no meat). Hope i helped and good luck.

Use bread or canned corn, those are the two most popular baits. In my opinion, dough bait works the best. I make some out of peanut butter, bread, cinnamon, & maple syrup. Use no weight or the smallest split shot you can find.

i catch them on bread almost daily in the Mississippi. a few split shot weights and a brad ball about the size of a quarter. fun fish to catch, good fight.
