Is it still okay to go fishing for carp?
06.December, 2009
Really, the pike and Salmon season is up. I still like to catch carp have a lot of corn meal left and some other ingredients to make the carp bait. I live in New York, Central. Is it okay to still gO?
Specially have something for Thanksgiving?
Sounds like you’re asking if the carp will be biting…you’ll never know if you don’t go. You’ll have to do some searching because of all the cool weather about but that’s what separates those who fish with those who catch…experience. ~good luck catchin’.
P.S.
The additional detail part, I can see that, A little side dish made with traditional carp recipes from yesteryear sounds good. If nothing, I’m sure you find something in one of the many markets your way. ; )

I have caught carp while ice fishing with spoons. So I believe it is fine. My ingredient is to mix flour with canned corn juice and cereal.

I’m sure Carp fishing is still good, if my lake had a more reliable water source this time of year then I’d be fishing for them too. Fall/Winter/Early Spring is the best times for Carp. If you have no luck now (which you should), early Spring will bring some bruisers. I use a dough-bait out of peanut butter, maple syrup, bread, & cinnamon, it sticks on the hook real well and has a distinctively good odor.
But I’m sure any of your old reliable baits will work as well. Let your bait sit in the spot for a good 10-minutes or so, the fish will find it if they’re feeding. If the 10-minutes is past, check your bait and re-cast.
