What are your favorite carp recipes?

And don’t tell me to cook it on a board and then eat the board - heard that one a dozen times already. Carp really doesn’t taste bad, it just seems incredibly bland and uninteresting. I recently bought a few jars of gefilte fish which is mostly made from carp, and therefore bland. Any tips for kicking this fish up a notch?

Carp about a foot long are better eating than the larger ones. Cut a fillet and soak it in a beaten egg, take some pancake mix [dry] and add salt and pepper to it, dip the soaked fillet in the pancake mix and fry in a 1/4 inch of oil in a hot skillet. Lemon pepper adds flavor also.

Pan frying is the best method. You can grill them by marinating themm in italian sauce
