I am thinking about building a pond in my garden and stocking it with koi carp, however i am a complete novice, could any would give me a ruff start up cost and a list of items that i will need?
Depends on where you live. They make preformed plastic tubs that can be used for this, but they aren’t deep enough if you live in an area that freezes in winter. The better way is to dig a pond in the ground then cover it with a rubber liner, that way you can make it any shape, size, and depth. You can use natural stone for waterfalls and borders. Of course you’ll need a pump and filter to circulate water. There are tons of books relating to this subject. Just go to your nearest garden center, or Lowes and Home Depot for these books.
