Gone Fishin’!

Me and a couple friends went fishing the other day and we didn’t catch a single thing. We used rigs and minnows and some really crappy corn. We know there are carp in there because we saw some dead along the banks. PLEASE HELP ME CATCH A FISHY!

corn and shrimp….the frozen cooked shrimp from the grocery store, as it thaws it somewhat chums the water carp love it…i use it all the time.

I need help im trying to catch carp fish.i don’t know where to begin can someone help me or give me a site i can go to to find out how to catch carp and the basics like hooking and baits.

It’s pretty easy and a lot of fun. Get two cans of kernal corn. Use the first can to chum – just open it up and throw the corn in the water. Use a small snell hook (small enough a carp can suck it into its mouth) and put a couple of kernals of corn on the hook and cast out where you chummed the corn. You’ll catch carp.

Carp fight hard, so be ready for a strike.

It’s a 590 acre lake in IL (Busse Lake).I only have my tackle that I use for bass fishing.I’m just looking to find where the carp hang out in a lake this size.What should I be looking for?

They are in the deep part of the lake around sunken trees and large sunken rocks. Find a good place to bank fish where no one else is fishing and set-up your rods there. Just use some of your heavier bass rods and reels for carp. Use a size 2 bait holder hook. Rigging your line for carp is all in preference. I just crimp on a big split shot to put my bait on the bottom. I use dough ball. It is made out of peanut butter, maple syrup, bread, and cinnamon. Works pretty good. I recommend you trying it. If you don’t want to make dough ball you can use bread. It works good too.

I need some good bait tips and rigs for catching these big carp in my pond.

Biscuit dough or sour bread dough for bait.

It seems like the carp in Germany are slightly different than the ones in the USA.

they have a lot of mirror carp. weird scale patterns. look deformed. but a carp is a carp. most baits used here should also work there. perhaps better if you make any special doughs that just kills ‘em here. something different they aren’t used to seeing.
