Gone Fishin’!

I have been tying the double fisherman’s knot in webbing and it seems to hold very well, but now when reading about the internets it appears that the water knot is the recommended webbing knot.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me why the water knot is so beloved, and if the fisherman’s knots are dangerous with webbing and why.

I never use a double fishermans in webbing, always go with a water knot. This is what all the books and pros say too. I would imagine this is because the double fisherman knot cannot be dressed very well with webbing, and it could slip through due to twists. The water knot is much neater with webbing and simpler to tie.

Where do ice fisherman use the restroom? I am looking this up for my friend. Please give all answers you can find or think for me. If you are an ice fisher please help me or tell me a site to go to.

Oh my God dude, didn’t you ever watch an episode of Deadliest Catch. It’s only on the like every day on the Discovery Channel. They go by seasons - and it’s not just "King Crab", there are others too. A "season" is like 3 weeks, and it all depends on how much they catch obviously. Usually though, the deckhands get like between 3 and 7 thousand dollars each. But, they can’t do this all year, b/c they can only fish in certain seasons

Let the speed of the motor boat in still water be x mph
Then upstream speed = x - 5
and Downstream speed = x + 5
Distance = speed * Time
Distances are equal
==> 2(x + 5) = 6(x - 5)
==> 2x + 10 = 6x - 30
==> 40 = 4x
==> 10 = x

The boat’s speed in still water is 10 mph.

1. What do the guys that work on oil rigs offshore do. How long do they stay out at a time and what is the pay rate now a days.
2. Commericial fisherman or crabbing work -How does one get hired? Where do they go. Pay rate also?

Roughnecks work in the oil fields. Great pay, but Reeeealy hard work, both physically and psychologically.

Oil rig workers work typically 3 weeks on, 1 off. Had a friend that did it. Said it was the most boring job ever.

Dont know about fishermen

I’m a caricature artist looking to make some money. I see artists everywhere along Fisherman’s Warf in SF trying to make a buck, but do you actually need permission to be there?? If so, how?

I really don’t know, but some of the guys that do them don’t seem like they have permits.

I bought 4 instant fisherman poles. The first one came and it was broke. At the time we were able to contact them. They had us mail it back to them. I have never got it back and we can no longer contact them. Does any one know how to reach them

If you can’t reach lnstant Fisherman, contact your credit card company and they may be of more help. They might withhold funds to them or may refund for the one outfit back to you.

My friend and I were watching a commercial for Deadliest Catch, and were wondering how much they made per year. My friend suggested around $60,000, but I think it’s more.

a deckhand with a full share on an alaskan crabbing boat can make between 0-130,000$ a year.

Will pay for taxi, get train or whatever but will have lots of luggage. Help please.
