Is Todd Palin a professional fisherman or did he sell that business and he is a stay-at-home dude?

I asked in YA is Palin would benefit from the pork in the wall street bailout bill that give a $12 million tax break to fisherman.
Several answers said that he was out of that business.
I asked if he was unemployed and people replied that because he as a professional fisherman, he was not really unemployed now because it is out of season now.
Is Todd Palin in the fishing business or not?

There are so many different avenues! Should I get him something from all of his loves? Should I focus on one thing? And the WHAT – Please give me ideas as to what I should get him.
Call up a few deep sea fishing charters if you live close to the shore.
Perhaps check your city paper to see what bands are coming to town – you could get him tickets to see a concert.
Just treat it as fun, don’t go looking for a tool he could use for work, etc.

I’m watching "deadliest catch" on discovery and they risk a 100% injury rate plus a very high chance of death from drowning to catch crab. These guys MUST be cashing out. Does anyone know much money these guys actually make?

He works on a commercial fishing boat out of Dutch Harbor Alaska for a Maine company, the office headquarters is in Seattle, but he has an Oregon residence? He spends several months at the end of the fishing season working on the boat when its docked for repairs in Fishermans Terminal in Seattle,and travels back and forth between Seattle and Porland. Does he pay Oregon state taxes or what? Also needs to file back 3 years
He does need people but not H & R Block on this occasion. He needs a tax professional (CPA or Enrolled Agent) who understands taxes for fishermen. He should ask others in the same industry for referrals to suitably experienced professionals.

Do commercial fisherman want whaling to stop? or do they want whaling to continue and they simply don’t care?
…first of all, "Whales" are NOT fish… (so) I don’t think they give a schyt.

During the first part of a trip, a fisherman travels 45 miles at a certain speed. The fisherman travels 10 miles on the second part of the trip at a speed of 5mph slower. The total time of the trip was 3 hours. What was the total time for each part of the trip?
First part of trip?
Second part?
t = first part of trip
3-t = second part of trip
v = speed of the first part
v-5 = speed of the second part
45 = v*t……(1)
10 = (v-5)*(3-t) => 10+5(3-t) = v(3-t)……(2)
(2)/(1): (25-5t)/45 = (5-t)/9 = (3-t)/t
Cross mulitplication: 5t- t^2 = 27-9t
=> t^2-14t+27 = 0
Solving with quadratic formula,
t = 2.3096 hours
3-t = .6904 hours
