Last night against the Colts, he was flagged for tackling a Colts player in the endzone, that made the player fumble. I don’t think the refs want Lewis to tackle.

Interesting to see how Ravens fans blame this loss on the refs. The refs DID call the change of possession when they fumbled.

I currently am going to school in NYC, but all our school has is intramural flag football. This doesn’t cut it for me as I really miss playing football, but would never want to play college. Is there any recreation only tackle-football leagues or programs available? Or is there any way I can play somehow? Thanks.

Very recently, I discovered what a glomp was. This was through the internet. I can see why the word glomp being used to describe a form of affection on the internet is efficient, but how could one tell the difference between a glomp and a tackle in real life?

A glomp seems to be an aggressive hug, with the receiver not happy with the attention. The tackle often accompanies a glomp where the receiver is knocked to the ground by a kind of flying tackle. Usually this type of behaviour is shown part of a skit, ad or comedy scene. If the receiver is really unhappy with the glomping activity, often an argument will follow.

Is it only a Nose tackle when there is three on the line or how does it work???

Defensive tackle is primaraly used in a 4-3 set. The two in the middle of the defensive line are considered Defensive Tackles. They line up on the offensive guards or around that area.

A Nose tackle is primaraly used in a 3-4 set with three down linemen. He is the middle linemen lined up directly on the center.

Nose tackles are usually bigger than regular defensive tackles, but not always. This is because they can plug up one to two running lanes for the running back.

I just started playing I love defense and hitting people but Im a small guy (5’8 148 lbs) and I don’t always bring the guy down. Usually I just aim for the legs but is there any better way to make a good tackle?

I played football for the first time in my life last season. I was on the JV team. This year i am moving up to the varsity team. I played defensive tackle, but im not strong enough.I didnt start and i dont think i will start this year. but i would love to start in grade 12. How can i get stronger hit harder and tackle better. What are some good stratagies to a good tackle and harder hit.

I coach 5th grade YMCA tackle football and need some tips.

Practice blitzing drills. Have them line up in a gap and hit it full speed when you blow the whistle. Vary it by calling out the gap you want them to hit at the last second, or by pointing to it when you blow the whistle. That will teach them to read for a split second first and then hit it with reckless abandon.

The more aggressive you have them practice (at full speed), the better chance they will make tackles behind the line in a real game situation.
