Hmm, surely it’s true that steam trains are too slow on *all* lines … and this is why they only run on Saturdays / Sundays anyway. I don’t think the scheduling is the biggest problem (it is a problem, but can be solved).

The biggest issue must be the steam in the tunnels, but how did they put 96 locomotives on the Harbour Bridge in the 1930s?

No all heritage trains leave via Cental platforms 1-14 which do not go through the tunnel.

No, I can’t say I have ever seen a steam train on the bridge.

Why don’t you contact Heritage Express for more info on their train trips ?

The only access to the Bridge by rail is through the tunnels of the City Circle. I would think the combination of enclosed spaces and smoke from a steam train means that this will be very unlikely.

Im pretty sure that you would never get a steam train going over the harbour bridge.. they are very slow..and would hold up all the other trains.. they mainly run in the country areas.
