Allowing schools to …
Allowing schools to fail with no intervention is the systemic way that the DOE is shutting down public schools in order to privatize. I agree that we must demand better from our principals, but we must demand that the DOE and Chancellor Joel Klein’s corrupt practices be stopped immediately. For more on these practices check out a great blog:

While Baker may be …
While Baker may be a big part of the schools problem, the DOE is utilizing her to shut down the space in order to privatize the space and publicly fund a school that WILL NOT educate all of the communities children, only the lottery winners. This is ridiculous. PS 241 in harlem and many other public schools are facing similar situations.

We have a Mayor …
We have a Mayor that wants control of the schools in order to give it away to charter schools that he has no control over.Privatization is the DOE’s agenda, not good public schools. Ask yourself this question. Why doesn’t the DOE fix the public school so that all the students from PS160 can stay? Why are our communities accepting charter schools into our public buildings that do not accept all of the communities children?

I disagree rmbr1030 …
I disagree rmbr1030. I understand your point about empty space and it being the principal’s responsibility to fill them. You are correct here. However, if the DOE knows what you know, why do they leave Baker there? Answer: the DOE has an agenda to close as many public schools that it can and replace them with charter schools.

and heard her rudeness and disrespect to fellow employees. The bottom line is that the charter school is a good idea because alot of students from the co-op city were picked to be in the charter school.

Furthermore, Baker …
Furthermore, Baker needs to start eliminating a majority of the teachers at 160 as most are there for a form of personal entertainment. The fact of the matter is that 160 just like a majority of NYC schools have staff that are mainly there for their personal entertainment. The community and parents need to rally and get Ms Bake transfered despite of the connections she may have wit the higher people at the DOE. I have walked by the school, and have been to many school functions and I have seen

Baker needs to take …
Baker needs to take control and start doing what she is paid to do which is be a prinicipal. In regards to the parent that stated something about the swine flu, what does that have to do with charter schools. A parent from 160 stated on the daily news that most people in section 5 are prosting but do not know the underlying causes of this charter school. They are being influenced the tyrant, hipocryte, and rude PTA Pres Sebastian, to fill his own potential political agenda.

It is very …
It is very inspiring seeing the students, parents, and a handful of parents protesting. The fact of the matter the only one person at fall in this matter is the principal Lori Baker. Lori Baker is at as much as her two istant principals. They failed to fill up the seats. How can funding be given to a school that is suppose to hold 1000 students but it only holds 500. Ms. Baker and her tyrant “fight the black power” istant principals are to blame for the their lack of work.
