What job discription does the Roughnecks do and fisherman?

Two questions:
1. What do the guys that work on oil rigs offshore do. How long do they stay out at a time and what is the pay rate now a days.
2. Commericial fisherman or crabbing work -How does one get hired? Where do they go. Pay rate also?

This question is for a family member
type of education needed ?please..serious answers only please.

Roughnecks work in the oil fields. Great pay, but Reeeealy hard work, both physically and psychologically.

Oil rig workers work typically 3 weeks on, 1 off. Had a friend that did it. Said it was the most boring job ever.

Dont know about fishermen

    fishermen…Usually they get a piece of the profits…………….less for the new guy more for the experienced…………….
    just go and apply,,,,,,,,,,,,,one of my friends did crab in alaska.made a lot of money for a couple of years……..
