I am graduating High School in June and I am thinking about becoming a commercial fisherman. I think it would be fun and exciting, at least for a while. I think it would be a good job for me because I don’t like dealing with the public and I’d much rather be doing physical labor than sitting behind a desk in an office building. I also love the sea. My question is, what do I have to do before a boat captain will hire me?
talk to them? You need no training, certificate or degree to work the nets.

You need to prove you can work hard. You just have to go to a dock town and beg to get on boats. Then, if you’re lucky enough to find someone to take you on, you have to work your butt off and take all the crap that goes with it without complaining.
