Money

adventure

danger

catching big fish

feeling free for a moment without confinements

commonality

the sense of belonging to a team

addiction to the sea ( or the fumes from the engine but lets not count that one. ; ) )

brotherhood

competition

the feeling of being the best at what you know and do

hands on work with all of the above

~good luck catchin.'

fishing is more than just catching fish and trying to be careful of this and that. when going after smaller fish there are dangers there too. i have been stabbed by stingrays. cut open by catfish. opened up by fillet knives almost drowned a couple times. there is more to fishing than that. it is getting out in to open water and soakin up the ocean being as close to God as you can possibly with out dieing. many many fisherman and just outdoorsmen/women, hunters, hikers, and what else ever goes out and goes after what they are searching for without looking at the dangers to have a fulfilment in their lives. i fish because fishing makes my life more stable and an unstable world. it gives me peace and fulfillment. maybe that is why the sword fishermen goes after the sword fish. i could be wrong though. good luck good fishin be safe and remember to share the experience
