How do you tackle a much bigger opponent in football?

I am in middle school and I am really small for a linebacker. I was first string last year and was pretty good. I wasn’t scared or anything, but I could hardly bring the guy down. All I could do was stop him and wait for a teammate. The coaches told me that that was all I had to do. This year I want to be able to tackle him on my own. Any suggestions?
stay low and go for their legs. if they keep running they will just fall right over you. or you can start lifting weights to get stronger. if you put all your strength in it will be easier to take them down

Take their legs from underneath them. If they are big they will plow you over if they keep their feet moving. Chop at their knees and use all of your momentum. If you can’t do this because you are at an angle, go for their legs and try to wrap up, if you still can’t do this try the waist and slow him down until someone else comes to help you out.
Since you are smaller I’m sure you are a quicker Linebacker than the others. You have to practice good form though and make sure to WRAP UP. Don’t be stupid and try to lay somebody out who is 50 pounds heavier than you. Never try to tackle someone bigger than you above the waist, you are asking to get blown up.

stay low the lowest man wins and do not let go run head first and hit hard no fear head up

Go for the legs. Your small so your not gonna be able to wrap him up or drill him. Hit him low, grab his legs to tie him up. If he cant move, chances are he’ll go down, but not without a fight of course. Try wrapping him up at the thighs because the lower you go, the easier it will be for him to break out. Plus, you will have your teammates there still to help you.

Same as a smaller one. It just takes more strength, finesse, and effort.
