because your school doesn’t play rugby, it plays touch rugby
at my school we play contact, but i’m sure in many other places, schools don’t want you playing contact, because it really bothers them when they have to call your parents if you get sent to the hospital, they don’t want responsibility for your injuries.
my parents had to sign some insurance form and all that before i was able to play full contact for my school

Wow, I have never heard of touch rugby. That must suck. That takes half the fun and competition out of the game. Yes it’s dangerous, but it’s your choice to play. I would prefer that the players were made to wear pads than made not to tackle.

Well if you can’t tackle then you signed up for the ladies rugby team.

it depends on the techer the decision lies soley with them i have an ex england under 21 teaching at my school so we have an extremely competitive team with strict training regimes and guidlines
we have been playing full contact since year 8 and it is awesome
but if you have a teacher who doesnt want the hassle of insurance forms or complaining parents then they are obviously gunna go for the sissy sport – touch
hope this helps
