Rainbow trout release

01.September, 2009

On April 10th, 2008, the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC released over 1,000 rainbow trout into Lafarge Lake in Coquitlam. Up to 10,000 rainbow trout are expected to be released into Lafarge Lake this season.

These fish, weighing between 250g and 600g, are intended to be caught by anglers. It is an urban fishery that can be participated by anglers of all ages and skill levels. There are up to 20 lakes in the Lower Mainland where this put and take fishery takes place year round. The Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC is funded by your angling license dollars.

    The best thing to …
The best thing to do would be to contact the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC and see what are available. You can find their website address in the video description. There are actually five hatcheries that the society operates, which are responsible for fish stocking in 5,000 lakes across British Columbia.
