What are the best rivers to trout fish in Colorado in late May?

I understand this is runoff season, but does that affect the quality of fishing? Would you suggest any other state for trout fishing in late May? I’m trying to plan a trip around Memorial Day weekend.

at one time i thought the eagle river by minturn just west of vail. but i think thay let one of the zink mines drain its crap out years ago . maby the fishing is better now. it was great trout fishing

    hope you can swim fast or walk on water. run off is real high this time of year. fishing will not be great with this kind of water. better to find a lake or another state like michigan or montana

    any of them that aren’t in flood stage. if safe, l’d still say go for it.
    otherwise any of the smaller feeder streams that might be clearer should offer good fishing.
    my stream fishing is in california and the streams clear to a fishable level in my area within just a few days after a good rain.
    l’ve done well in high water with worms or crawlers where legal.
